– Sunshine Coast, BC –
For almost a decade, this bride and groom have lived in beautiful Vancouver, and they wanted their ceremony to reflect their love for the beauty of British Columbia. Melissa and Nathan grew up in Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa, and interestingly enough, so did I! When I met them, I knew it was all meant to be. The pair decided on a smaller, authentic wedding ceremony that really captured the natural and rustic beauty in the area, and they wanted to give their family and friends the chance to experience the scenery. In the end, the Sunshine Coast was just right for their backyard ceremony, with a view overlooking the ocean. I personally spend quite a lot of time on the coast, as my parents live there, so I am thrilled when to get to shoot weddings there; it feels like home to me. Melissa and Nathan are blessed with some of the kindest, warmest family and friends, and they welcomed me into their circle right away.
After their heartfelt and emotional ceremony (a few tears might have been shed), they had a champagne toast, the best live music, and speeches filled with love and memories. Before dinner began, I took the couple down to one of the nearby beaches for some sunset portraits. The water’s edge was shimmering and the joy they felt was pretty contagious. It was a gorgeous evening with a gorgeous couple, and I wish them many years of happiness. Thank you, Melissa and Nathan, for so lovingly including me in your special day!
